How this order is setas of 22 Oct 2026
- Recommended (4): fully reviewed, score 3.5 or higher, no red light and at least one verified real-money account running 12 months (365 days). The longest single account counts — several short accounts are not added up. Demo, funded and prop-challenge accounts do not count, nor do accounts that were closed, blown or taken down by the vendor. If fewer EAs pass, you see the real number; the list is never padded.
- Tested (20): every other fully reviewed EA without a red light, by score. Tested, not recommended (7): a red light, meaning a score below 3.0 or a measured drawdown of 50% or more (the only exception is a calm account running more than 180 days). From 30% drawdown there is no green; green from a score of 3.8.
- Our own products (1): EAs developed by the operator of AlgoVerdict, which we earn from, are not rated – no stars, no grade, no traffic light, no figures from our own live accounts. They sit in no ranking but at the end, without a grade.
- Order: by score within each group, alphabetical on a tie. The score is the weighted average of Live track record 25%, Strategy risk 20%, Transparency 20%, Value for money 15%, Usability 10%, Broker independence 10%. Drawdown counts from every source; the worst figure wins.

- Which forex EA is the best?
There is no single best Expert Advisor — there is the one with the best ratio of verified live return to maximum floating loss for your risk. At the top are only EAs scoring 3.5 or more, without a red light and with at least twelve months on a verified real-money account; below them every other review by score. Every card shows the worst measured drawdown; the score weights live track record most. On a budget, switch to “Good & cheap” (up to $300 / €300, drawdown below 35%). - Where does the live data in the EA reviews come from?
From publicly linked live and funded accounts (AlgoTradingSpace, Myfxbook, MQL5 signals) that we fetch automatically every week, plus the accounts in our own EA park. Vendor backtests do not feed the rating. How we weight is explained in the methodology.
- Are forex robots profitable at all?
Some are, most are not over time. In this list two numbers tell you: return since start and maximum floating loss. An EA at +40 % with a 60 % floating loss has already nearly lost its account once. Why many EAs fail live even though the backtest shines is explained in why EAs fail live.
- What do I need to run an EA?
An ECN/raw account at a broker without EA restrictions (best EA brokers), a Windows VPS in the broker data centre (forex VPS comparison, from $6.50) and outside monitoring so a frozen terminal does not go unnoticed for weeks (free portfolio tracker).
- Do EA vendors pay for the rating?
No. No vendor pays for a rating or placement. AlgoVerdict earns through disclosed partner links (brokers, VPS, ATS) when you open an account or buy through them — an EA’s rating does not change because of that, and partner EAs get the same deductions for high floating loss as everyone else. EAs the operator of AlgoVerdict sells himself are not rated at all: they sit at the end without a grade or traffic light, as explained in our methodology.
