What Quantum Emperor Is
Quantum Emperor by Bogdan Ion Puscasu (MQL5 market, $799.99) is the GBPUSD specialist of the "Quantum" family, alongside Quantum Queen and Quantum Queen X. With more than 580 reviews at 4.84★ the vendor is one of the best-selling names on the MQL5 market; the EA has been on sale since August 2023 and is currently at version 7.5.
The vendor explains the design openly: each trading impulse is split into five to six partial positions, and instead of simply realising a loss, losses are "earned back" through the profits of subsequent trades. There is a 250-pip stop-loss and trailing — but the real risk management is the recovery logic. That is a grid approach, even if the word never appears on the product page.
We have run Quantum Emperor on our own live account since 26 January 2026 (RoboForex ECN, MT5, $1,000 starting capital, vendor default with auto-lot). Every figure below comes from that account's Space Tracker record, not from the vendor's signal.
The Numbers From Our Account
As of 20 September 2026, after 235 days and 573 closed trades:
- Gain: +26.4% (time-weighted +31.1%; $200 was withdrawn along the way) — an average of +3.3% per month
- Profit factor 1.92, win rate 93.5%
- Max floating loss −21.3%, max equity drawdown 25.2%
- Lot size stayed at 0.01–0.02 throughout — the EA did not scale up
- Average holding time 10.5 hours, longest losing streak 7 trades
The monthly path is the real reading material: January +$5, February +$28, March −$229, April +$56, May +$101, June +$78, July +$125, August +$116, September (to the 16th) +$21. Eight of nine months positive — and the single negative month cost more than the following three months earned together.
Why a 93.5% Win Rate Is a Warning Sign
The vendor markets Quantum Emperor with a win rate close to 100% and a profit factor of 5. Our account confirms the high win rate (93.5%) — and refutes the profit factor (1.92). Both fit once you understand the design: a recovery logic books profits immediately and parks losses until the market comes back. That produces many small green trades and, rarely, one big red one. On our account the largest single loss (−$48.52) is six times the largest single win (+$7.96).
As long as GBPUSD keeps moving, this works decently. In a month like March 2026, when the market did not come back, the EA wrote off in a few days what it had earned over weeks. This is exactly the pattern our guide to grid and martingale EAs means when it talks about the "too smooth equity curve".
The second point concerns the risk claim: the vendor quotes roughly 10% drawdown for his signal. Our account shows 25% equity drawdown and −21% floating loss, and our EA-Scout audit measured 31% on the vendor's signal in August. That factor of three between claim and observation is why we rate strategy risk at 2.9 despite an overall solid result.
Cost & Realistic Expectations
$799.99 is a lot of money for a single-pair system. At the +3.3% per month our account actually delivers, payback on a $1,000 account takes about two years; on $5,000 it shrinks to well under six months. The vendor recommends a $1,000 minimum deposit — after the March month we consider that the absolute floor. An ECN/raw broker with tight GBPUSD spreads is a prerequisite; our picks are in the EA broker comparison.
Who It Is (Not) For
Suitable for traders who want a documented grid-recovery track on GBPUSD, bring at least $2,000 of capital, can sit through 25% drawdowns and budget the EA as one building block of an EA portfolio.
Not suitable for prop-firm challenges with hard daily or max-drawdown rules (March would have breached almost any challenge), for accounts under $1,000, and for anyone who mistakes the 93% win rate for a safety promise.
Verdict
Quantum Emperor is a working, well-maintained grid-recovery EA with genuinely high tail risk. Our live account documents +26% in eight months at profit factor 1.92 — more than most MQL5 bestsellers manage in real operation. It documents just as clearly the −23% losing month and a drawdown that exceeds the vendor's marketing by a factor of two to three. Our 3.5/5 is a "yellow with substance": worth buying if you plan for March 2026 as the normal case, not the exception.
