Lowest Spread — Brokers for Scalping & Algo 2026

Lowest Spread for Scalping — Straight Answer

For scalping and high-frequency algo trading, the advertised "spreads from 0.0 pips" is not what decides — the effective all-in cost base: raw spread + commission is. Across our reviews, the genuine raw/ECN brokers deliver the lowest effective costs: IC Trading (raw spread from 0.0 pips + 3.50 USD/lot/side on MT, ~0.6–0.7 pips effective on EUR/USD), FP Trading (3.00 USD/lot/side), and RoboForex on its Prime account (~1.00 USD/lot/side — the lowest per-side commission in this comparison). Which broker is cheapest for your frequency depends on lot size and round turns — the table below shows our ranking.

Why Only All-In Cost Matters for Scalpers

A scalping EA fires dozens of round turns a day depending on the system. At that frequency every hundredth of a pip eats performance. "Spreads from 0.0 pips" alone is therefore worthless — the second line of the pricing model (the commission) decides.

EUR/USD worked example: 0.0-pip raw spread + 7.00 USD round turn (3.50 USD/side) ≈ 0.7 pips effective on a standard lot. With a 0.1-pip raw spread and 6.00 USD round turn you also land at ~0.7 pips. The numbers sound identical but are not: at smaller lot sizes the spread advantage shrinks while the commission stays fixed.

Hidden costs such as requotes, inflated swaps and concealed markups on the raw feed can neutralise any spread advantage. A nominally cheap broker with frequent requotes and 2-pip slippage is more expensive in practice than a nominally pricier broker with clean execution. That is why we always rate spread in the context of execution quality — a full breakdown lives in our spread comparison.

Raw/ECN vs. Standard Account for Scalping

Standard account (no commission): The broker builds its margin into the spread. Typical EUR/USD spreads run 0.8–1.6 pips. Almost always too expensive for scalping.

Raw/ECN account: The liquidity provider's raw spread passes through nearly unchanged, with a transparent commission charged separately — at the best brokers 2.00–3.50 USD/lot/side. Full cost transparency and predictable maths for EAs trading fixed lot sizes. The only sensible choice for scalping.

ECN tiering (Prime, PRO, Institutional): Some brokers offer cheaper tiers above certain volume or deposit thresholds. RoboForex charges ~1.00 USD/side on Prime and ~2.00 USD/side on ECN; Vantage offers a PRO ECN account at 1.50 USD/side. Traders moving large lot volumes regularly should ask specifically about such tiers.

The Cheapest Scalping/Algo Brokers at a Glance

IC Trading charges 3.50 USD/lot/side on MetaTrader (3.00 USD on cTrader) for its Raw account. With a typical EUR/USD raw spread of 0.0–0.1 pips, all-in costs land at ~0.6–0.7 pips — top tier, plus Equinix NY4 execution and unrestricted scalping. IC Trading review.

FP Trading offers 3.00 USD/lot/side on its Raw account — marginally below IC Trading — at comparable spread quality. One of the most cost-efficient options once you account for offshore regulation. FP Trading review.

RoboForex stands out with its Prime account at ~1.00 USD/lot/side — the lowest per-side commission in this comparison. For high-volume scalping EAs it can be arithmetically hard to beat. RoboForex review.

Vantage PRO ECN charges 1.50 USD/lot/side — one of the cheapest Tier-1-regulated (ASIC/FCA) offerings on the market. Full Vantage review.

FAQ

Which broker has the lowest spread for scalping in 2026? By effective all-in cost (raw spread + commission), IC Trading and FP Trading lead; on pure per-side commission, RoboForex Prime at ~1.00 USD is lowest. The best choice depends on lot size and trade frequency.

Why isn't "spreads from 0.0 pips" enough as a comparison figure? Because the commission is missing. Only raw spread + commission gives the effective cost base. Two brokers both quoting "0.0 pips" can differ materially in all-in cost.

Are scalping and EAs allowed at these brokers? The raw/ECN brokers listed here allow scalping and EAs in principle; some (e.g. IC Trading) document this explicitly as unrestricted. Verify the specific account terms in each review.

Is a low-commission ECN Prime tier always worth it? Only at sufficient volume. Cheaper tiers are often tied to deposit or volume thresholds. At low frequency a plain raw account can cost the same on balance.
