Overview

FxPro has been in the market since 2006 and is one of the established names in European CFD brokerage. Three points matter most for EA traders: No-Dealing-Desk execution from servers in London's Equinix LD4, a broad platform choice with MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView, and supervision by the FCA and CySEC. On costs, however, FxPro is mid-table: 3.50 USD per lot per side on the raw accounts, and a free VPS for VIP clients only. Important for the DACH region: the cheapest account models (Raw+ and Elite) are only available through the Bahamas company.

Regulation & Safety

FxPro operates through several companies: FxPro UK Limited has been authorised by the FCA since 2010 (509956), FxPro Financial Services Ltd by Cyprus's CySEC (078/07) and additionally by South Africa's FSCA (45052). FxPro Global Markets Ltd holds a licence from the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (SCB, SIA-F184).

Clients from Germany, Austria and the EEA are generally served by the CySEC entity and thus fall under the ESMA framework, with leverage capped at 1:30 for retail clients. Two top-tier regulators plus one tier-2 licence (FSCA) and one offshore licence (SCB) give 4.4 under our methodology. The top band would require a third top-tier regulator, as Pepperstone has with ASIC and BaFin.

Costs

FxPro runs several pricing models, and which ones are available depends on the jurisdiction:

  • Standard (MT4/MT5): no commission, mark-up in the spread — the pricier choice for active EAs.
  • Raw / Raw+ (MT4/MT5): spreads without mark-up on FX and metals, 3.50 USD per lot per side, i.e. 7 USD round-turn. According to FxPro, Raw+ with 0.0 spread on FX and gold is only available to clients of the Bahamas entity (FxPro Global Markets), as is the Elite account from 30,000 USD with commission rebates.
  • cTrader: 35 USD per 1M USD volume per side. For one lot of EUR/USD FxPro charges in the base currency — €3.50 per side, €7 round-turn.

At 7 USD or €7 round-turn, FxPro sits mid-table among raw-spread providers. On top come the VPS at 30 USD a month (without VIP status) and an inactivity fee that third-party sources such as BrokerChooser report after six months without trading. On the plus side, FxPro itself charges nothing on deposits and withdrawals. Overall 4.1.

Execution

This is where FxPro is well set up: according to FxPro its trading servers sit in Equinix LD4 in London, are cross-connected to tier-1 banks and aggregate liquidity through the in-house Quotix aggregator. All client orders are executed without dealing-desk intervention, most of them in under 8 milliseconds according to FxPro. That is documented more concretely than at many competitors, but it comes solely from the broker itself; we found no independent measurements. Hence 4.6 — the top of the second band, not the top band.

EA & Algo Suitability

FxPro allows Expert Advisors on MT4 and MT5 and cBots (cTrader Algos) on cTrader; hedging is possible on most account types, and FxPro explicitly names scalping EAs as a supported strategy. With MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView, FxPro covers all common algo environments — from MQL through C# to Pine Script.

The catch is the VPS: it costs 30 USD a month and is free only for VIP accounts, which FxPro typically grants from around 50,000 USD in deposits or high trading volume. For smaller EA accounts your own VPS is usually the better deal — see our VPS guide for EAs for what matters. Under our rubric 4.6: top-level on platforms, but the VPS threshold is too high for the top band.

Conditions, Deposits & Support

FxPro requires no fixed minimum deposit but recommends 1,000 USD. Accounts can be held in EUR, CHF, USD and GBP among others — convenient for DACH traders because currency conversion falls away. Besides FX you can trade metals, indices, energy, futures, crypto and more than 2,000 share CFDs. Leverage for EU/UK retail clients is capped at 1:30; FxPro additionally applies dynamic leverage that falls as volume per instrument rises. Swap-free accounts are available on request. Conditions: 4.4.

Deposits and withdrawals run via bank wire (SEPA usually the same business day according to FxPro), card, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller and local methods; FxPro charges nothing for them, though banks or payment providers may. Support is available 24/5 via live chat, email and phone in more than 20 languages. We could not verify whether German is among them. That gives 4.3.

Verdict

FxPro is a reputable, broadly positioned broker with clean infrastructure for EAs: LD4 servers, No-Dealing-Desk execution, four algo-capable platforms and FCA/CySEC supervision. If you want to trade automatically on cTrader or MT5 using EUR or CHF accounts, it is a coherent package. Cost-optimisers in the DACH region should bear in mind, however, that the cheapest account models are reserved for the Bahamas entity and the free VPS only kicks in at VIP status. On pure trading costs, the specialised brokers in our comparison of ECN brokers for EAs come out ahead.
